What are the Apprenticeship Programs?

The apprenticeship programs are four year courses designed to prepare you for a career as an operating engineer or heavy equipment mechanic. The programs consist of training, supervised instruction, and on-the-job experience. Our 231 acre facility in New Alexandria features newly updated training areas, a large maintenance shop, multiple classrooms, and offices.

Two Career Paths:

Heavy Equipment

Operator

  • Instruction on at least 5 types of equipment
  • 4,000 hours of on-the-job training
  • 5-7 weeks combined classroom and hands-on instruction per year
  • 45 college credits awarded
